The Executive Governor of Lagos State Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, aka "Mr. Sellable," "Mr. Projects" have once again commended the drive for success in life through voluntary engagements in very positive initiatives, opportunities and ventures which the Nigerian youths, especially those in Lagos State have chosen to explore so as to be gainfully employed, rather than being a burden to the family, society, state and the nation at large.
Speaking recently to graduands of the 5th batch of trainees, who also became members of the 6th batch new Inductees into the Project Loud Sanwo-Olu ICT/Skill Acquisition and trade tools' empowerment scheme, the governor who was ably represented by the Lagos State Commissioner, Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Ajigbotafe commended the studious resilience and attention to details exhibited by the graduands towards their lectures, (which consisted of theories and hands-on practicals), and to their lecturers and supervisors who guided them properly during the course of the two months intensive training programme.
Similar words of commendations to the project's initiator and encouragements to the graduands also came from the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, (SSA, Agriculture), Mr. Gbolabo Olamihun; Hon. Olusola Bernard Ayopelu aka Obama, a Councillorship Aspirant from Yaba LCDA and also from Engr. Hon. Niyi Amir, aka Gbodo, who is also gunning for the Itire-Ikate Chairmanship slot come the next electioneering dispensation in the state.
They all enjoined the projects' graduands and empowerment beneficiaries to always be good ambassadors of the scheme and the state, while putting their acquired skills and tools to good use for their own benefits and the society at large.
The event took place inside the indoor hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, in Surulere, Lagos State, south-west Nigeria.
Major corporate supports and partnership for the programme came from Fiddosy Wines and Spirits International - a company that have consistently supported the project with annual donation of blenders to the students and whose General Supervisor, Mr. Ewerem Julius Amarachukwu stood-in for.
Earlier, proud, elated and very fulfilled Project Coordinator of the scheme, Prince Kenny Bakare expressed thanks to God Almighty first and foremost, and also deep appreciation and thanks to all the major stakeholders in the actualization of the scheme since its inception viz: the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Ministry of Employment and Wealth Creation, and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) for standing very stoutly behind the scheme in the last five years and still counting.
